History

Electro swing emerged in the late 1990s and early 2000s as producers and DJs began folding vintage swing and jazz recordings into house- and dance-driven tracks. The genre is strongly associated with Europe, especially France and Austria: Caravan Palace identify themselves as an électro-swing group from Paris, while Apple Music describes Parov Stelar as one of the originators of electro swing and links him to the style’s early spread.
