Use our music. Own a share of it.
Feature a Lunar Boom track in your content and we sign a share of that song's revenue over to you. Your audience drives the streams, and you get paid for them.
Nothing to pay us
No fee, no catalogue to buy up front. Your only cost is the DistroKid account the split pays into.
Paid at the source
DistroKid pays your share straight to you out of the song's earnings, rather than us collecting and forwarding it.
Runs for the life of the song
The split does not expire with the campaign. It keeps paying for as long as the track is released.
Why we do it this way
A song nobody hears earns nothing. That is the whole deal.
What you get
A standing percentage of a released song, with nothing to buy up front and nothing to recoup. You earn from every stream it collects, including the ones your content had no part in, and you keep earning after the campaign is over.
What we get
Reach. A track in front of a real audience is worth more than one sitting in a catalogue waiting to be found. We would rather hold a smaller share of a song people actually hear than all of one they never do.
How it works
Three steps, and the last one repeats on its own.
Tell us which track
Send us the song you want to build content around, plus a short outline of what you are planning: the platform, the format, and roughly the audience it will reach.
Agree your split
We settle on a percentage together, based on the scope of the campaign and what the song is expected to earn. Once it is agreed, we write it into the release's splits.
Get paid, month after month
DistroKid pays your percentage straight to you as the song earns. Hold 50% of a track and you receive 50% of its revenue — including the streams that had nothing to do with your content.
Before you ask
The questions everyone asks first.
These are general answers. Every partnership is agreed song by song, so the split, the terms, and what the campaign involves are all settled with you directly — ask us about a specific track rather than working from the numbers on this page.
What does it cost to become a partner?
There is no fee payable to Lunar Boom. The only cost on your side is a DistroKid account, which starts at around $10 a year and is what allows a split to be paid out to you. The percentage itself is negotiated per song, based on the scope of your campaign and the value the song is expected to generate. Treat the figures here as a guide rather than a price list — get in touch and we will talk through what the track you have in mind would actually look like.
How do the splits actually work?
Splits are handled by DistroKid, the distributor the catalogue is released through. Once a split is in place your percentage is paid to you directly out of the song's earnings, so Lunar Boom never holds your share and forwards it on. Setting one up usually takes a day or two after both sides agree; from that point it runs automatically for every stream and download.
DistroKid's documentation on splitsDo I own the music?
You own a share of the revenue, not the copyright — the rights to the recording stay with Lunar Boom. In practice this is a partnership, so we stay open about how a song you earn from is used and promoted, and how much say you have scales with the size of your split and how closely we end up working together. If you need specific terms pinned down before you commit, ask us and we will put them in writing.
How long does my split last?
For as long as the song stays released, and we have no plans to pull songs from the catalogue. A split you hold keeps paying long after the campaign that earned it has finished.
Do I need a large following?
No, there is no follower minimum. What matters is whether your content and the song are a genuine fit. A smaller, engaged audience in the right niche is worth more to a track than a large one that scrolls past it. If you are unsure whether you qualify, send us a message rather than ruling yourself out.

Got a track in mind?
Tell us which song and what you are planning. If it is a fit we will come back with a split, and you can see what other creators have already made with the catalogue while you wait.
